Hampton Court Palace
Main gate - photography was not allowed in most of the halls, and I was busy chasing the girls on the grounds, so this is the best you're going to get - sorry!
The view from the bridge over the river Thames. The pointy bits in the middle section are the chimneys of Hampton Court.
A gun hole in Fort Nelson, put to a different purpose than originally intended.
The view over the battlements away from Portsmouth. Fort Nelson was built, along with several other forts, to defend Portsmouth's rear from pincer attacks.
Enlisted men's quarters in Fort Nelson. The beds are in two pieces so they can be pushed in during the day time and pulled out to sleep. Though the meals might seem boring to us (tea, bread and something for breakfast and tea and some sort of meat, etc., for each main meal) and the lodgings crowded they were a lot better than what most of these men would have come from.
Hannah and Kaitlyn on the Watercress Steam train. Unfortunately as we went with a group there was not an opportunity to stop and properly take photographs of the steam engine itself, but it was fun to feel the train 'chug, chug, chug' along!
